Table Tennis is a genuine life time sport. You can begin at age 6 and still play when you are 86. Never Too Old for Gold captures the beauty of our sport and weaves it into an interesting storyline.
The movie is about about retirees who from across the planet come to eventually compete in the World over 80s Table Tennis Championships in Inner Mongolia. From retirement, care homes, mental and physical health to death and loneliness; 8 players from 4 continents, with 703 years between them; guide us through the extraordinary world of Veteran sports. The film interweaves the competition with intimate and candid portraits that explore the hope, passion, prejudice, and immediacy of growing old.
We have been asked by the film producers to post information on “Never Too Old For GOLD” on our blog - SpinMantra. We are enthusiastically doing so.
We encourage you to see it at the movie theater if you can, or download it. Have a great day!
