I have not got enough time to test a lot of XIOM blades which were released this year. Today, I took some time to test the XIOM Aigis blade. The XIOM Aigis blade is an all-round blade for defensive style of play. I have written about this blade in Spinmantra.com before. This blade has helped a player in Maryland to win a championship. This is a very stable blade for long pips like TSP Curl P3, TTMaster Punto, Fireproof, TSP Curl P-H and offensive rubber like XIOM Omega III. The 2010 version of Aigis has not changed much, except it has a handle similar to some of the butterfly defensive blades. This grip is called SI. It is similar to straight but little roundish. The previous years Aigis blade had handles which were little oversized. The 2010 version has grip which is smaller and comfortable for a defensive player. The blade can be easily maneuvered because of it’s compact handle construction.

The XIOM Aigis 2010 is also available in both Flared and Straight handle style - I call it SI handle.
