It is true that my forehand loops were not going well after I have switched to this new custom made paddle. I have tried different forehand rubbers, but none really satisfied me. I planned to buy a sheet of Tenergy 25 when I’m here at the US Open. Look at my bad luck. There is no Tenergy 25 available at the US Open. So, I had to play with XIOM Yanus DF on my forehand for the tournament. The XIOM Yanus DF does not give me enough kick to power spin, but that is the best I could find in the XIOM range of rubbers that suits the speed I was looking for.

I had the under 2200 rated event yesterday afternoon. I made another stupid mistake of gluing the XIOM Yanus DF on my blade again. That threw me off a little in the under 2200 event. I have played this 2000 rated player, was leading in 2-0, but he made a comeback to beat me. The main issue here was I did not move well. This young kind from Dallas rated 1700 gave a real ride. He took the first 2 games, and I had to come back to beat him. The boy had some nice tennis style serves and he tried to trap me with that serves. He had real trouble when I have started to change the spin in the fifth game. When I was leading 10-6, he was crying while serving. I felt bad seeing that. After I have won, I went and console him.

The greatest match I had in this US Open 2009 was the match against Robert Shahnazari rated 2200. Last time when I have played him at the US Open, it was a disaster for me. But this time, I took one game out of him and was looping consistently against him. I had some good fun against him.
