At the club, I play against a hard bat player regularly. But I have not played against a tactical hard bat player for a while especially someone who steps out and chop.

The hardbat players’ ability to generate spin on the ball depends on the quality of the pips being used. I have found I have more problems against a newer hardbat with a new rubber. When it comes to hardbat rubber, the Butterfly Orthodox DX rubber has more croockdness than some other pips out there.

A high level rated player in our club recently moved to playing with hardbat. I’ve had a chance to play against him yesterday. It is a wicked combination to play as he has pips on both sides and I have long pips on the backhand.
