TSP Curl P1R

The Tulpe T-7003 is an all wood offensive blade. This blade is made in China. I don’t know what it has been made of. Neither I know the speed or control rating. This is a problem with some Chinese products that are sold for cheaper price. This blade costs less than $15 if you buy online from TableTennisStore.us.

The Tulpe T-703 is a compact blade with a little thin handle. It is lighter with a weight of 82 gm. It has a medium hard feeling. I have no idea why this blade has the black color. The surface looks similar to Stiga Optimum Seven / 7. The Stiga Optimum 7 does not require a sealing, but I have felt the Tulpe T-703 requires sealing. I have sealed the blade with Joola Varnish.

I have put TSP Curl P1R in OX on one side and Yasaka Mark V in 2.0 mm on the other side. This set up fits a close to the table defender who does occassional hitting. I have seriously felt the Tulpe T-703 blade does not have enough blade strength for away from the table power game. So, it is purely for close to the table game.

The TSP Curl P1R behaved okay on this blade. The reversal of spin was minimum, but it is a good combination for a variety spin game being close to the table. The throw angle little high but that is compensated by sudden drop of ball after it hits the table. I don’t normally hit with TSP Curl P1R, but the combination did a pretty good hitting.

The Yasaka Mark V in 2.0 created a perfect balance for this blade. The Yasaka Mark V is an all round rubber with good possibilities of defending as well as looping. The rubber has a natural rubber feeling. I have stepped out from the table few times to do some power looping. It can’t generate a lot of power too far from the table but good enough for looping.

The Tulpe T-703 with a TSP Curl P1R OX and Yasaka Mark V is a good economical set up for a close to the table defensive play. The combination is very light.
