I have used both the Asian and European versions of XIOM Omega II. Both these versions are for players who use the looping and hitting techniques effectively. These rubbers are for semi-professionals and professionals. I’m not saying you should not use it if you are a developing player, but to effectively use it, you need to have good strokes.

The Asian version of XIOM Omega II has sponge hardness of 47.5 while the Euro version has the sponge hardness of 40. You need to be highly technical to use the Asian version because of its hardness.

I have tried XIOM Omega II on Butterfly Defense II. The Butterfly Defense II is not a slow blade but faster enough for offensive play. I have also tried this on TSP BalsaFiber 3.5 DEF+ blade.

Among all the tensor rubbers out there with the speed glue effect, the XIOM Omega II is the real deal. The XIOM Omega II has extreme speed glue effect – also with the click sound. It is slower than XIOM Omega III and has more control than XIOM Omega III.

I have found the XIOM Omega III is hard to play against no spin or knuckle balls. Every such ball need to be looped, otherwise the ball can simply fly away at the point of contact. The XIOM Omega II does not have that problem. It gets into the rubber fast enough, so a minor error from your side will get the ball to the other side.

The XIOM Omega II has extreme spin. I was able to generate any kind of spin while serving. I have not tested a rubber with that much control while serving like XIOM Omega II. If you know serving under spin, top spin and side spin, this rubber is very effective for you – you can preciously do whatever you want and get more points through serves. I have also found this rubber will help you to change the amount of spin you can put on the blade – from close to “no spin” to extreme under spin. Such variation of spin is the quality of this rubber. I have gained more points through serves with this rubber.

I play against two Chinese Penhold players – one uses a highly tacky Chinese rubber and the other uses a 1 Ply Hinoki. Their floating underspin balls have been very difficult for me to handle. I used to miss 40% of their serves. With the XIOM Omega II, I was able to loop their shots very well and get points. The XIOM Omega II has helped me looping well than any other rubber out there – brushing the ball at the top can generate massive top spin.

Another amazing thing about XIOM Omega II is the precise classic top spin hit stroke you can execute with these rubbers. After I started playing with this, the two wings of the table became a favorite spots for me. I was able to hit such strokes from even further away from the table. And such strokes go down because of the power. The XIOM Omega II is suitable for players who prefer power and get point fast.

The XIOM Omega II costs $45 in the US / Canada. It is worth for that money.

I recommend Maze for the Asian, and Euro for soft wooden like Yasaka Gatien Extra 3D.

Have you used Omega II Asian on a soft Hinoki Blade like Septear..??

The XIOM Omega II Asian works great on any Hinoki blade. Irrespective of Asian or European version, the omega II works great. The favorite combination that I have seen is Omega II 2 2.0 mm sponge size on hinoki blades.

I thing you made a mistake in the text. you mentioned that xiom omega 2 the euro version has a sponge hardness of 40. could you also tell me its durability?
